299 — Integration (20 weeks)

Criteria for Admission:

Open only to students registered for the Diploma. Enrolment must be preceded by successful completion of all other Diploma requirements.

Content:

Development of the ability to use relevant information, both conceptual and experiential, in the identification, formulation and presentation of job-related problems or issues. Three different theoretical models are used to examine a problem of interest that has been defined by the student in conjunction with the supervisor.

Objectives:

  1. To demonstrate the inter-relationships among the various levels (individual to community) in the formulation of the problem.
  2. To demonstrate ability to make appropriate use of relevant theoretical models (e.g. general systems, transactional, personality) in the formulation of problems and subsequent strategies for intervention.

Format:

To be negotiated at first meeting.

Evaluation:

Written paper and presentation.
