Postgraduate Emergency Medicine

US Fellowship

McMaster Division of Emergency Medicine and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton Department of Emergency Medicine offer an unaccredited subspecialty rotation (1 year). St. Joseph’s Healthcare is a high volume, high acuity emergency department with two ultrasound machines – Toshiba AF300 and Zonare Mindray ZS3.

In addition, a devoted fellows imaging room is available after 4pm and the predominant shifts worked are after 4 pm.

The rotation is competency based and offers real time image review with RDMS-certified staff via QPath. There are experiences in a larger tertiary care intensive care unit at William Osler Health System, Brampton, ON.

We accept two residents per year and prioritize internal candidates from the Emergency Medicine training programs. We have four RDMS-certified staff and multiple other staff that support the program. Experiences in critical care medicine ultrasound, echocardiography, general ultrasound and obstetric ultrasound are available.
