It is operated in a manner that maximizes user access at a reasonable fee, and provides available expertise to aid the users in experimental design and protocol development. The facility is located in room 4098, in MDCL. There are three instruments available to the research users. Within the Health Science Center there are 2 instruments: A three-laser (488 nm, 633 nm, 350-nm UV), 8-colour capable digital sorter, FACSVantageSE™ instrument and 2) a three laser (488 nm, 633nm) 15-colour capable LSR-II™ instrument. The third instrument is a 8 colour, 2 laser (488nm, 633nm,405nm) FACS Canto™ and is located on the 5th floor of the Center for Learning and Discovery.

B. Clinical Laboratory Facility:

The clinical Flow Cytometry Facility is located in the Immunology section of the Clinical Chemistry area, at the McMaster University Medical Center (Rm 2N49), and is part of the Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program. The facility performs a variety of standard cell phenotyping tests that provides service to the greater Hamilton area and as a reference center for South-Western Ontario. The facility utilizes single instrument with two lasers (488 nm, 633 nm). It is a colour capable FACS Canto with semi automation tube locater
