Dr. Ilyas Aleem has received the Fergus Mills Scholarship for work on the study: "The Global Burden of Spine Fractures: A Prospective Multi-centre Evaluation."
The Fergus Mills Scholarship was established in 2008, by Dr. Edward Mills in honour of his father, Fergus Mills. The scholarship will be awarded by the School of Graduate Studies, on the recommendation of the Assistant Dean for Health Research Methodology, to a student enrolled in a graduate program in Health Sciences who is committed to research which will help people in a developing country. Preference will be given to a student with an academic or research background related to Africa with further preference given to a student enrolled in the Health Research Methodology program.
