Dr. Anthony Bozzo was born in Montreal where he captained the football and rugby teams at Loyola High School. While completing a major in Neuroscience and minor in Finance at McGill University, he worked closely with a spine surgeon at the Montreal Neurological Institute. Their collaboration culminated in a publication in the Journal of Neurotrauma, and, importantly, fueled Anthony’s desire to pursue medicine.
During his medical studies at McGill University, Anthony was heavily involved in student life. He was President of the McGill Surgery Interest Group and VP Finance of the Medical Students Society.
His interest in the orthopaedic specialty began with a rotation in Pediatric Orthopaedics and was bolstered by an elective in revision arthroplasty here at McMaster.
A personal highlight of 2014 was when he was able to meet and speak with his long time idol, renowned Sports Orthopedic surgeon Dr James Andrews. While Anthony is greatly enjoying his two month Trauma rotation, his current sub-specialty interests include Pediatrics, Sports and Tumour.
Anthony is very excited to be a part of MacOrtho, already involved in a research project and the writing of a book chapter, and is looking forward to growing within the program. Anthony’s personal interests include working out, travelling to new countries, spending time with his large Italian family, cooking, and anything NFL related.
