Fellow Spotlight: Dr. Natasha Holder

Dr. Holder’s academic career began in her hometown of Montreal where she completed a Bachelor and Master of Science in Physiology at McGill University. She then obtained her medical degree from the National University of Ireland, UCC, in 2009. During her time in Europe she travelled extensively and learned of the finer things in life such as rugby and Guinness. She also participated competitively in kickboxing winning numerous titles including the National Champion for her division.

She subsequently completed her residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Ottawa from 2009 to 2014. During her residency, Dr. Holder participated actively in a number of research projects and recently published a study entitled “ Outcomes following surgical treatment of periprosthetic femur fractures: a single centre series” in the Canadian Journal of Surgery.

In parallel with her studies, Dr. Holder enjoys fine dining, working out, golf and traveling.

Dr. Holder is currently undertaking a fellowship in Upper Extremity Surgery with Drs. Moro, Rajaratnam, Ristevski and Denkers.
