Dr. Al Asiri graduated from King Faisal University with a MBBS and then worked as an orthopedic assistant for three years. He started his residency on 2008 and finished his orthopedic surgery training from McMaster University on 2013 with FRCSC. He currently has two published articles: a case report titled “Arthroscopic Bullet Removal from the Acetabulum” in the Journal of Surgical Technique and Case Report written in collaboration with Dr. Wong as well as a systematic review publication with Dr. Ayeni in FAI publications trend published in KSSTA entitled, “Sources and quality of literature addressing femoroacetabular impingement.
Dr. Al Asiri started his fellowship in 2013-2014 under the guidance of Dr. Petrisor in Foot & Ankle focusing on hind foot pathologies. This was followed by another year of trauma surgery focusing on periarticular, pelvic & acetabular fractures. His research interest lies in pelvic/acetabulum trauma & lower extremity reconstruction. He will work as a senior fellow & will be given a pupilages as a junior staff at Hamilton General Hospital.
He has a passion for teaching and he takes great pleasure in educating medical students and junior residents. Outside work, Dr. Al Asiri enjoys spending time with his family at the Martial art Karate centre or playing soccer with friends.
