Faculty Spotlight: Jung Mah

Dr. Jung Y. Mah obtained his medical degree from Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario). He completed his residency in Orthopaedics at McMaster University. He then did his fellowship training for a year at the Hospital for Sick Children (Toronto, Ontario) followed by another year at the Children’s Hospital at Harvard University (Boston, Massachusetts).

Dr. Mah returned to McMaster University Medical Centre after he completed his Fellowships. He has served on various committees at McMaster. He represented McMaster as an examiner on the Royal College of Physician Surgery Examination Board. Subsequently, he served as Program Director for McMaster Orthopaedics program for two terms. Currently, he holds the designation of Clinical Professor, Department of Surgery.

His clinical interests are Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Injuries.

He is the former physician for the Canadian Men’s National and Olympic Gymnastics Teams, 2012-2014.

Dr. Mah and Mrs. Mah are proud parents of three adult children. Baun is an accomplished film director, Kandice is finishing her Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at the Hospital for Sick Children (Toronto, Ontario), and Doug is on staff with the Harvard Teaching Hospitals (Boston, Massachusetts) as an electro-physiologist in their Congenital Heart Program.
