MacOrtho is pleased to welcome Dr. Elmaraghy, who will be presenting "Distal Biceps Tendon Rupture: Diagnosis and Management" for the next MacHANd Session on March 4th, 2015 at 7:30AM.
Dr. Amr Elmaraghy graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine in 1994, and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency there in 2000. After a Clinical Fellowship in Upper Extremity, Hand and Trauma Surgery, he began practice in 2001. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Amr Elmaraghy has established a subspecialty practice in Upper Extremity Arthroscopy and Reconstructive Surgery and has been published in a number of peer-reviewed orthopaedic journals on topics related to upper extremity pathology and surgical technique. During medical school and his orthopaedic residency, Amr played three years for the Varsity Blue’s Men’s Basketball team, and has continued his interest in sports medicine by acting as a consultant to a number of sports teams, including Canada Basketball’s Men’s National Team.
Dr. Amr Elmaraghy has also established a dedication and experience in treating injured workers. For nearly 9 years he was a Consultant for WSIB Hand & Wrist Specialty clinic at the Toronto Western Hospital, and continues as a consultant for the WSIB Shoulder and Elbow Specialty Clinic at the Sunnybrook Holland Orthopaedic and Arthritic Centre. He is currently affiliated with and operates at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto, where he is the Head of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery.
