Dr. Peter Giannoudis is a Professor at University of Leeds and Honorary Consultant at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI), a major teaching hospital serving a population in the region of 3.5 million. In addition, he has served as the President of the British Trauma Society (2006-2009) and the President of the European Society of Pelvis and Acetabulum, (2008-2011). Currently, he is the Editor in Chief of the Injury Journal and Chair of the International Committee of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. Dr. Giannoudis has published over 450 peer review papers and has written 7 Orthopaedic and Trauma textbooks as well as given over 250 invited national and international guest lectures and Keynote lectures since 2004.
Dr. Giannoudis's research interest focuses on the immune-inflammatory response following accidental and surgical trauma, biology of mesenchymal stem cells, bone regeneration, bioengineering, and clinical outcomes following fracture fixation.
