Dr. Rubini Pathy

Dr. Rubini Pathy is a 5th year resident in the Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program at McMaster University. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Western Ontario and enjoyed working as a physical therapist for 5 years in Toronto. She was inspired to pursue a career in orthopedic surgery after providing post-operative rehabilitation to orthopedic patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Rubini completed medical school at the University of Toronto, where her interest in international orthopedics was sparked by clinical and research electives in Malawi and Zambia. She is grateful for the opportunities she has had as a resident to further explore this interest, during electives in Uganda, with the support of MacOrtho, the International Surgery Desk at McMaster, and the Division of Orthopedics at UBC. Rubini is looking forward to her fellowship training in Pediatric Orthopedics at the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York in 2014 and British Columbia Children’s Hospital, Vancouver in 2015.

Rubini has a passion for travel, having explored most continents, except Antarctica, which is on her bucket list. She is thankful for her amazing family and friends, who add much richness and sweetness to her life.
