Stuart Bisland came to Canada from Scotland after completing a BSc. (Hons) from Aberdeen University and a PhD from St. Andrews University. He accepted a post-doctoral fellowship at the Princess Margaret Hospital focusing on the development of peptide-based intracellular vehicles for targeting cancer cells. This led to his interest in photodynamic therapy and orthopaedics, with the development of animal models for spinal metastases, LLD and osteomyelitis among others.
Stuart started McMaster Medical School in 2007 and Orthopaedic Residency in 2010.
His interests outside of work include his wife and 3 amazing kids. Stuart also plays competitive level tennis, squash and a wee bit of golf.
