Dr. Bhandari Moderates the First COA-OrthoEvidence Trauma Club

Published: April 1, 2016

The first COA-OE supported e-journal club webinar series kicked off with an expert panel supported by: Drs Emil Schemitsch (London), Brad Petrisor (Hamilton), Aaron Nauth (Toronto) and Paul Duffy (Calgary).
The format was simple. Top OE rated evidence reports were summarized across common trauma topics to include: upper extremity, lower extremity, perioperative treatments, and bone healing therapies.
Panelist debated whether evidence was sufficiently compelling to treat proximal humeral fractures non-operatively, whether reamed nails are the standard for open fractures, and the latest evidence on bone stimulators for fracture healing.

The webinar was a huge success and marks a new era of evidence-based educational opportunities from the COA .
