MacOrtho at Casting Tutorial

Published: November 20, 2014

Second year McMaster medical students proactively take part in their orthopedic education at the McMaster University Medical Center by participating in a hands-on casting tutorial led by the orthopedic residents. This year over 80 students rotated through the workshop and got to experiment with different casting techniques for distal radius fractures. Similar workshops take place throughout the year giving both junior and senior medical students an opportunity to learn the basic principles of orthopaedics, which will be fundamental to their practice of surgery, as well as emergency and family medicine.

A great job was done by the organizing teams to make things run smoothly and a big thanks to the residents who volunteered their time to allow it to happen.
