Dr. Khaled Almansoori is originally from the United Arab Emirates, but feels very fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel extensively. He graduated from high school in Brazil and then completed a Bachelor's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology at Boston University, USA. He then pursued a medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, followed by an orthopedic residency program at the University of Alberta in Canada where he is currently in the final stages of completing a Master’s degree in Health Science Education. In addition to his Masters, Dr. Almansoori is also undertaking a fellowship in orthopedic trauma at the Hamilton General Hospital.
His interest and passion for orthopedics began during his teenage years when he was diagnosed and eventually treated for an osteoblastoma with excision and allograft reconstruction. He has had the privilege of working as a medical volunteer in many third world countries and has most recently been working with the ICChange organization to develop a national trauma system in Kenya. In the near future, Dr. Almansoori hopes to hold an academic position in UAE and help pioneer its first orthopedic residency training program. Outside of his medical and academic duties, he spends most of his time with his wife and three children.
