Congratulations to Dr. Nathan Evaniew for successfully defending his PhD thesis last week! His thesis was titled ‘Health Research Methodology in Spine Surgery’, and his degree will be in Health Research Methodology with a specialization in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. His supervisory committee includes Dr. Gordon Guyatt, Dr. Mohit Bhandari, and Dr. Michelle Ghert.
Nathan entered the McMaster Surgeon Scientist Program and Clinical Investigator Program in 2013 after completing the first three years of residency. His research and subspecialty interests are in spine surgery and evidence-based orthopaedics, and he is particularly focused on the design and conduct of collaborative randomized trials and meta-analyses.
