Published: April 18th, 2014

MacOrtho is proud to announce the successful launch of the INternational ORthopaedic MUlticenter Study in Fracture Care (INORMUS). We have recruited and enrolled the first 6 patients from the first clinical site in China. INORMUS is a global, multi-center, observational study funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and McMaster Surgical Associates and headed by Dr. Mohit Bhandari. The INORMUS-China initiative is led by Dr. Gerard Slobogean who visited a number of clinical sites to establish working relationships with investigators in China last year. INORMUS is a collaborative effort of more than 30 investigators across 17 countries.

The primary objective of the study is to determine the mortality, re-operation and infection rates of musculoskeletal trauma patients within 30 days post-surgery. On May 1st and 2nd, the INORMUS Study Investigators will host a Study Planning Meeting to discuss the logistics of initiating future clinical sites and funding opportunities.
