Message from the Director of Residency
Welcome to the McMaster University Orthopaedic Training Program. Our mission is to educate and empower the surgeons of tomorrow with the capacity for evidence based clinical care, critical thinking, creativity, professionalism and a proclivity towards lifelong learning. The development of these attributes surrounds a core of technical training in the art and science of orthopaedic surgery.
Our faculty's clinical interests cover the breadth of orthopaedic sub-specialties, and they are committed to providing the highest level of education in keeping with the tenets and guidelines put forward by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. As well as providing clinical training, we have a Canada Research Chair in Musculoskeletal Trauma in the Division and strong faculty and resident involvement in both basic science and clinical research. The opportunity is also available to enter a research track with training as a surgical scientist in collaboration with the Department of Surgery and the Surgical Scientist Program.
We thank you for your interest in McMaster University and the Orthopaedic Surgery Training Program and invite you to explore this site.
