MacOrtho Junior Resident Wins Medical Staff Association Award

It gives us great pleasure to announce that Nathan Evaniew has been chosen as one of three recipients of the MSA Outstanding Resident Award for 2012 for junior residents. We congratulate him on receiving this honor as MacOrtho continues to be recognized for excellence in resident achievement.

Nathan was recently honoured at the HHS Medical Staff Association Annual Dinner & Awards event on Friday June 8, 2012 at the Art Gallery of Hamilton.

Nathan was chosen from the following criteria
Excellence in all of these roles is clearly essential to the development of a well-rounded physician, but the roles of particular significance with respect to interactions between Residents and Medical Staff, were those of:

Medical Expert

Demonstrate diagnostic and therapeutic skills for ethical and effective patient care
Access and apply relevant information to clinical practice
Demonstrate effective consultation services with respect to patient care, education and legal opinions

Consult effectively with other physicians and health care professionals
Contribute effectively to other interdisciplinary team activities

Deliver highest quality care with integrity, honesty and compassion
Exhibit appropriate personal and interpersonal professional behaviours
Practice medicine ethically consistent with obligations of a physician
