Levine appointed chair of federal review board

The federal government has appointed Mitchell Levine as chair of the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board (PMPRB).

Levine is a professor of the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact and the Department of Medicine at McMaster University. He is also director of the Centre for Evaluation of Medicines at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton.

The PMPRB is an independent quasi-judicial body with a regulatory mandate to protect the interests of Canadian consumers by ensuring the prices of patented medicines sold in Canada are not excessive.
