“Being a student at the Niagara campus has been an exciting experience since the day I arrived in St. Catharines. Shortly after beginning my pre-clerkship tutorials in the Niagara region, any apprehensions I had about tutorial quality quickly vanished. The commitment to student learning and the enthusiasm of the medical community to teach students has been readily apparent. I’ve found that all of my tutorial facilitators, as well as my clinical skills preceptors and my professional competency facilitators, have gone the extra mile to make sure that I am getting the most out of my experience in the Niagara region whether it be by taking that extra time to help me understand a physiological process, to refine my approach to a clinical exam or to learn more about the topics in medicine that really interest me.
Having just started my clinical clerkship, I have found that the positive experiences that I had in pre-clerkship has continued as a clerk. Various health professionals at the clinical teaching sites have been very welcoming and are very engaged in making sure that I gain the clinical experience that I want to. Being one of only a handful of clerks in this region has allowed me to participate in patient care in a way that might be more difficult to achieve in larger settings where there are more learners. Beyond the wonderful clinical experience so far, my experience here in Niagara has largely been a positive one thanks to the responsiveness of the administration to any concerns or feedback I have had.”

"My experience at the NRC has been extremely positive. It's great to be part of such a tight-knit community. The preceptors here are excited about teaching and I've had lots of great hands-on experience. Being part of a smaller campus, you really feel like you are part of a team, and that your input is valuable. I'm excited to see how this campus continues to develop!"

"The most exciting thing about learning in Niagara is the ability to be part of a campus that is constantly changing, improving and adapting to the needs of their students. I have never had the experience where I can identify an area needing improvement, mention it to the associate dean or regional program administrator in the hallway later that day, only to discover the next day that the change has been made. I feel like I witness this type of adaptation to our needs as students on an almost daily basis, which has made being a part of distributed education not only totally worthwhile and incredibly rewarding, but also pretty darn unique!"
