Chair
Welcome to the Department of Medicine in the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University. The academic Department of Medicine is committed to excellence in all facets of academic medicine. The Department is large and diverse with over 400 faculty and 400 support and research staff.
The Department of Medicine is comprised of 17 Divisions who have faculty not only in the City of Hamilton, but also throughout Ontario and around the world. McMaster University is consistently acknowledged as one of the most innovative universities among Canada’s 15 research-intensive universities. Our unique philosophies in teaching and education are world-renowned, and our capacity to collaborate with one another in an inter-disciplinary manner has allowed us to develop a unique research capacity.
It is for that reason that we continue to recruit the best faculty who can provide excellence in education, teaching and clinical care, as well as outstanding students to both our graduate and postgraduate programs.
