Education and Professional Standing

Joye St. Onge obtained her Bachelor of Sciences degree from the University of Waterloo and then went on to medical school at Queen's University.

She completed both Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine Residencies at McMaster University, and a Master of Education at OISE/University of Toronto.

She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at McMaster University. She has previously held the positions of Clerkship Coordinator for Geriatric Medicine (2003-2007) and Program Director for the Geriatric Medicine Residency and Fellowship Programs (2008-2016).

Her clinical practice is based at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, ON, with special interests in quality improvement and optimizing the care of frail older adults in acute care settings.
