The Division of Geriatric Medicine of McMaster University is one of the most productive in Canada, conducting collaborative "bench to bedside" research in a wide variety of areas health care and promotion in older adults.
In addition to these clinical research interests, members of the division of Geriatric Medicine are involved in the elaboration of Canadian Clinical Practice Guidelines for osteoporosis, dementia, and heart failure.

Student and resident research
The Division of Geriatric
Medicine welcomes inquiries by undergraduate and post-graduate students
in health sciences in regard to potential research and quality assurance
projects. We encourage prospective students to bring forward their
own research questions and ideas. Our office maintains and updates
a database of possible topics for quality assurance projects. We also
encourage students to seek out opportunities for scholarships, bursaries
