Division of Geriatric Medicine

Dr. Tricia Woo, Program Director

Dr. Tricia Woo, MD, MSc, FRCP(C)
is the Director of the Geriatirc Medicine
Residency Program

Welcome from the Program Director

The Geriatric Medicine Residency Program at McMaster University is designed to develop well-rounded expert clinicians in geriatric medicine. The core clinical rotations are structured to provide a balanced and diverse exposure to inpatient, outpatient and long term care populations.

During the program residents will work closely with Geriatricians who are not only expert clinicians, but also have special interest and expertise in medical education, research, program development and health advocacy.

We are a mid-size program, with enough clinical activity to provide a great breadth and depth of experiences, within an environment that is supportive, resident-centered, and friendly. We have approximately 15 faculty geriatricians who contribute actively to residency education, and are very accessible to trainees.

Each year, over 100 residents and medical students from outside of geriatrics rotate through our core teaching sites, and our division is a frequent recipient of teaching awards. We approach education as a lifelong continuum and strive to integrate teaching and learning across all levels of experience and disciplines. These factors have helped us to build a rich, collegial and diverse training program that we are very proud of.

We thank you for your interest in educational opportunities within our division and invite you to explore this site.
