Education and Professional Standing

Dr. Chakroborty obtained the MBBS from the University of Calcutta, India and trained  in Internal Medicine. He did subspecialization training in Tropical Medicine from the Calcutta School of Tropical Medicine, University of Calcutta. His areas of interest were Malaria, Kala-Azar, Leprosy and Tuberculosis. He did further training in General Internal Medicine at the McMaster University of Medical Science. He also completed a fellowship in Adult Infectious Disease from the University of Toronto with special interest in HIV Medicine.


Dr. Chakroborty joined McMaster University as Assistant Professor in 2009. Besides General Internal Medicine, the other areas of his interest are Tropical Medicine, Tuberculosis and HIV care.
