Infectious Diseases Residency Program
General Electives Information
Infectious diseases training includes studying in microbiology
laboratories in order to understand the science behind
the
identification of pathogenic organisms.
The Division of Infectious Diseases at McMaster University is widely recognized for its outstanding teaching of clinical infectious diseases, coupled with its exposure to both common and rare infectious diseases. Students may request to do electives at any of the four (4) teaching sites where our division offers regular clinical service: Hamilton General Hospital, Henderson General Hospital, McMaster University Medical Centre, and St. Joseph’s Hospital. We enthusiastically support elective students at both the undergraduate MD and postgraduate levels of training.
Trainees wishing to do an elective in Infectious Diseases are asked
to contact Dr. Philippe El-Helou (Director, Infectious Diseases Residency
Training Program). Elective spots are limited, and are reserved on a
first come, first served basis.
