Internal Medicine Residency

Year One

Required Rotations in Core – others are selective. Rotations are completed in 4-week blocks.


  • 4 blocks Medical CTU
    (Training begins with a 2-block rotation; two 1-block rotations follow during blocks 5 - 13)
  • 2 blocks Ambulatory Care Clinics, including 1 block in the Boris Ambulatory CTU. (Subspecialty clinic preferences will be solicited in June)
  • 2 blocks Intensive Care Unit
  • 2 – 5 blocks Medicine Subspecialties such as Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Geriatrics, Hematology, Immunology/Allergy, Infectious Diseases, Medical Oncology, Neurology, Respirology, Rheumatology
  • 2 blocks maximum of Selectives outside of Medicine, eg. Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry, Radiology.

A combination of the above to make up 13 blocks.
