Internal Medicine Residency

Year Two

Required Rotations in Core. Rotations are completed in 4-week blocks.


  • 3.5 blocks Senior Medical Resident on CTU
  • 2 blocks Nephrology
  • 1 block ICU
  • 1 block CCU (or complete in PGY3)
  • 1 block Cardiology (if not done in PGY1)
  • 1 - 2 blocks Elective (either PGY2 or 3 year)
  • 4 weeks Ambulatory Clinics and 4 weeks Research, (either PGY2 or PGY3) two-week modules, paired with Float
  • 1 or more blocks Subspecialties (see list below)
A combination of Core and subspecialty to make up 13 blocks

Subspecialties to choose from:

Allergy/Immunology, CCU, Cardiology, Clinical Pharmacology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Geriatrics, Hematology, Infectious Diseases, Medical Oncology, Neurology, Palliative Care, Respirology, Rheumatology
