Required Rotations in Core – others are selective

PGY-4

The PGY4 year can be split along several lines.

  • first year of a two to three year subspecialty training program
  • fourth year of training in general internal medicine where residents can choose to design this year to meet special objectives for their careers along with the guidance of the PGY4 GIM Program Director
  • fourth year of a two-year academic general internal medicine program where residents complete a Royal College PGY4 in GIM and then spend a fifth year of training as a Clinical Scholar in the Masters Program in Health Related Methodology at McMaster.
