Welcome to Respirology
Dr. Gerard Cox is head of the Division of Respirology at
McMaster University.
The Division of Respirology at McMaster University provides clinical care, research and training in respiratory diseases. We have a large faculty, with members in the four hospitals throughout the City of Hamilton and at the Firestone institute for Respiratory Health (FIRH), who look after the full spectrum of respiratory disorders.
The respirology research conducted at McMaster and the FIRH into respiratory diseases is known internationally, and there is a large pool of talented researchers from diverse scientific and clinical backgrounds who collaborate with this. Numerous and respected clinicians, scientists and teachers of respiratory medicine, both nationally and internationally, have worked and studied at McMaster and in the Division.
Finally, we have an active teaching program and respirology residency which provides comprehensive training, as well as numerous research opportunities, to physicians wishing to pursue a career in Respirology.
