Resident Profiles

2001

Dr Hassan Al-Malkii
Dr Al-Malki is a resident of Qatar who trained in Internal Medicine at the University of Western Ontario and completed training in Nephrology at McMaster in 2003. He completed an additional post-fellowship year in transplantation at McMaster and has returned to Qatar.

 

Dr Torke Al-Otaibi
Dr Al-Otaibi is a resident of Kuwait who trained in Internal Medicine at the University of Western Ontario and completed training in Nephrology at McMaster in 2003. He completed an additional post-fellowship year in transplantation at McMaster and has returned to Kuwait.

  Dr Soraya Moghadam
Dr Moghadam trained in Internal Medicine at Memorial University prior to completing her training in Nephrology at McMaster in June 2003. She has since relocated to Ottawa.
  Dr David Perkins
Dr Perkins trained at McMaster University in Internal Medicine prior to starting his Nephrology Fellowship at McMaster. He completed training in June 2003 and is in clinical practice in Mississauga at the Credit Valley Hospital.

2002

Dr Bassam Al-Helal: Dr Al-Helal is a resident of Kuwait who is at McMaster for a one-year fellowship focusing on Renal Transplantation. He completed training in Nephrology at McMaster in December 2004 and returned to practice renal transplantation in Kuwait.


2003

Dr Xi Shan
Dr Shan trained at McMaster University in Internal Medicine prior to starting her Nephrology Fellowship at McMaster in July 2004. She graduated after two years and is in clinical practice in Nephrology at York Central Hospital in Toronto.

 

Dr Rajni Singhal
Dr Singhal trained in Internal Medicine at the University of British Columbia prior to starting a Nephrology Fellowship at McMaster in July 2004. She is currently a scholar with ICES and works at Sunnybrook and Hamilton Health Sciences.

 

Dr Avtar Sohal: Dr Sohal trained in Internal Medicine at the University of British Columbia prior to starting a Nephrology Fellowship at McMaster in July 2004. He currently does clinical work in Hamilton and Toronto.


2004

Dr Azim Gangji
Dr Gangji trained at McMaster University in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. He is currently an Assistant Professor at McMaster in nephrology and transplantation.

2005

Dr Danny Lagrotteria
Dr Lagrotteria was a trainee at McMaster University in the Internal Medicine Training program. Dr Lagrotteria began his Nephrology residency training at McMaster in July 2005. He currently is a Nephrologist in St. Catharines and an Assistant Adjunct Clinical Professor at McMaster.

 

Dr Philip Boll
Dr Boll was a trainee at McMaster University in the Internal Medicine Training program. Dr Boll began his Nephrology residency training at McMaster in July 2005. He currently is a Nephrologist in Oakville.


2006

Dr. Winnie Su
Dr. Su completed Internal Medicine at the University of British Colombia. She completed her training in 2008 and is working at McMaster as a Clinical Scholar with research training in Dialysis and Medical Education supervised by Dr. Gangji.


2007

Dr. Poli Lekas
Dr. Lekas completed medical school at the University of Toronto and Internal Medicine at the University of Ottawa. She is in the second year of her Nephrology training.


2008

Dr. Salima Amlani
Dr. Amlani completed medical school at McMaster University and Internal Medicine at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.

 

Dr. Basel Al-Hayki
Dr. Al-Hayki completed medical school in Bahrain and Internal Medicine in the U.K. 


2009

Dr. Aziz Walele
Dr. Walele completed medical school in South Africa and Internal Medicine in the U.K.  He worked as an Internist in St. Catharines after completing training in Toronto. He was accepted for a re-training position in Nephrology.
