Maureen has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McMaster University and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Toronto.

She has conducted several national studies focused on knowledge transfer and exchange and public health decision-making. Maureen is currently conducting a randomized controlled trial evaluating the impact of a knowledge broker on public health decision-making. She also launched www.health-evidence.ca in March 2005 which is a registry of systematic reviews evaluating the effectiveness of public health interventions.
