Welcome to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

We are committed to providing excellent educational programs, leading edge basic science and health-care research and the highest quality in patient care. Our mission is education, research and effective care for women.

We believe that we offer excellent postgraduate education with a sustained tradition of excellence. The department has five areas of clinical service: Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility, Urogynecology, Reproductive Biology and our new Laparascopy Rotation.

The full-time and clinical faculty in the department provide tertiary and specialty care programs that serve the patients and physicians of Central-West and Central-South Regions of Ontario, Canada. These regions include the counties of Hamilton-Wentworth, Brant, Halton, Niagara, Haldimand-Norfolk, Waterloo and Wellington with a combined population of 2.2 million.

We advocate an integrated and interdisciplinary approach to health care with an emphasis on "evidence-based" effective health care.

The department is active in important clinical and basic science research efforts, with active grant support and numerous scientific publications each year.
