Terms of Reference — Education Committee

Mandate

To oversee the development of excellent educational programs in the Department of Oncology at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level.

To encourage multidisciplinary educational opportunities.

To assist in faculty development.

To ensure that all members of the department understand how to prepare an annual education dossier, maintain current curriculum vitae according to university guidelines, and understand the requirements regarding tenure and promotion.

To ensure the educational programs offered through the Department of Oncology adhere to the expectations of the university as well as external bodies such as the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Appointment to the committee will be a combination of those in designated educational leadership roles as well as interested members of the department.  For the latter group, members will serve three year terms.

Meeting Frequency Three times per year, or at the discretion of the Chair, as required.
