Department of Oncology Finance Committee

Mandate

The Department of Oncology Finance Committee is comprised of the chair, director, senior financial officer, financial controller, division heads and two faculty members appointed by the chair on the recommendation of the existing committee members. The purpose of this committee is to advise the chair on strategic direction related to the Department of Oncology’s finances.

The Finance Committee will make recommendations related to the financial management of the Department of Oncology. This will include the operating budget, and all other financial structures within the department.  The committee will comment on the Oncology Alternative Payment Plans as they pertain to the department.  The committee will establish department-based policies and procedures. These policies will be in line with the Faculty of Health Sciences/McMaster University Policies and Procedures


Meeting Frequency

The committee will meet quarterly.

The appointed members will have five year terms on the committee. Members may be reappointed for a second term at the request of the chair and committee.

The financial assistant will be the secretary to the committee.
