Graduate Education
Members of the Department of Pediatrics make significant contributions to health sciences graduate education at McMaster University at both the Masters and doctoral levels. This includes the supervision and teaching of trainees in the following programs:
- Medical sciences
- Health research methodology
- Rehabilitation sciences
- Nursing
Currently, there are 67 graduate students and fellows pursuing their education in the field of child health research.

The Faculty of Health Sciences introduced an MD/PhD Program in September, 2007, which is designed to increase communication between basic scientists and health-care providers/clinicians. The Program will seek to train individuals as clinician scientists who will pursue research as a major priority. Graduates will be well-prepared for leadership roles in integrated research initiatives, particularly those involving interdisciplinary and translational health research endeavours.
