Moyez B. Ladhani MD, FRCP, FAAP, MSc (HScEd) is a Professor at McMaster University, Department of Pediatrics. He did his MD at the University of Toronto, followed by a residency in Family Medicine at University of Toronto and a residency in pediatrics at The IWK Hospital, Dalhousie University; He completed his Masters of Health Science Education in 2014. He was the Program Director for the Pediatric Residency Program for 10 years (1996-2016). Clinically, Dr. Ladhani is a Consultant Pediatrician, mainly providing service on the CTU, runs an outpatient consultant practice and supervises the Senior Resident Clinic and General Pediatric Fellow Clinic.
Dr. Ladhani is the inaugural Director of Competency Based Medical Education, Postgraduate Medical Education. The office will be responsible for smooth transition of all postgraduate programs to competency based medical education. Dr. Ladhani has been involved in many program, development and search committees. Currently Dr. Ladhani chairs numerous committees with his main focus being on medical education and CME activities. Dr. Ladhani sits on the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Pediatric Exam Board and is the director of the OSCE sub-committee. He is a regular examiner and advisor for pediatric residency program and is an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Pediatric Exams. In 2016, for his innovative work in medical education, the Department of Pediatrics created an award named in his honor, The Moyez Ladhani Medical Education Innovator Award. His past leadership positions include Pediatric Program Director, Chair of the Canadian Pediatric Program Directors, Chair of the Canadian Pediatric Program Directors Research Group, Vice-Chair for the Medical Council of Canada Evaluation Exam Pediatric Test Committee, Deputy Chief, Division of General Pediatrics and chaired the Practical Pediatrics conference from 2000-2011.
