Medical Secretary and Research Administrator, Division of Infectious Disease & Raha Laboratory
Janice is a medical secretary and research administrator who has been with the Department of Pediatrics since 2006. Early on, her interest in medicine motivated her to provide support for a family practice, but it was her exposure to the research stream at McMaster that truly inspired her. She thoroughly enjoys the inquisitive nature of the research world and finds satisfaction in assisting her faculty as they navigate new investigative projects. Janice works closely with Dr. Sandy Raha of the Raha Laboratory and provides administrative support to several faculty members in the Division of Infectious Disease.
She also thrives in her role as lead coordinator for the McMaster Children and Youth University (MCYU) program. The program, which she helped launch and has actively maintained since 2011, engages and inspires community children about the opportunities associated with post-secondary education. Her participation with MCYU has been one of the most rewarding elements of her career, to date.
