Postgraduate Medical Education
Overview
The postgraduate medical education programs at McMaster University (located in Hamilton, Ontario) provide two routes to certification, either through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or The College of Family Physicians of Canada.
In addition to the affiliated teaching hospitals listed, McMaster University has wide access to an extensive number of additional training sites, including rural and community settings in both northern and southern Ontario. This spectrum of resources, along with the size of the programs at McMaster, allow programs to tailor your residency program to meet your needs.
Dr. Guyatt Shortlisted
Dr. Gordon Guyatt has been short-listed as one of 10 candidates for the BMJ's Lifetime Achievement Award. Guyatt first coined the term "evidence based medicine" in an editorial in the American College of Physicians Journal Club. He has actively promoted the concept as a central part of the practice of medicine today.
