Department of Radiology
Welcome note from Dr. David Koff
Over more than 100 years, diagnostic radiology has evolved from the subtle art of interpreting shadows on a blurred film to a complex and highly technologically evolved discipline, requiring a large array of skills and knowledge. The radiologist is a respected expert and radiology has become an indispensable service. Medical Imaging has been proclaimed as one of the "eleven developments that has changed the face of clinical medicine" during the last millennium, according to the editors of the New England Journal of Medicine.
Our goal at McMaster University is to train our residents and clinical fellows to face all aspects and challenges of our constantly evolving specialty and I am proud and happy to welcome you to the best residency program in Canada. With four busy hospitals and the second largest cancer centre in Canada, we offer exposure to all fields and subspecialties of radiology. Not only will you acquire the professional skills you need, but you will also share our high ethical values and professionalism - always with the best interest of the patient in mind.
Medical Imaging is a fascinating specialty and constantly renewing itself. This makes for a thrilling lifelong learning experience, and also a wonderful worldwide network of individuals who share the same interest and passion for their specialty. This is the best choice!
