ICD - Intelligent Content Delivery Project

  • Secure Intelligent Content Delivery System for Timely Delivery of Large Data Sets in a Regional/National Electronic Health Record

Objectives

  • Develop innovativev solutions that address the issues associated with timely and secure delivery of large data sets to consumers in the context of the Electronic Health Record and their local working environment:
    • On-demand display
    • Foreign data ingestion
    • Retrieval performance
    • Information synchronization
    • Secure sharing

Value Proposition

  • Accelerate the sharing of medical images among care providers through secure, intelligent content delivery.
  • Allow the Ontario eHealth initiative to fully realize the benefits of an image enabled Electronic Health Record.

Education

  • Deploy an XDS infrastructure to facilitate cross enterprise sharing
  • Federate multiple RIS and PACS using the XDS infrastructure
  • Implement an intelligent content delivery grid
  • Evaluate interoperability
  • Provide knowledge to the private sector partners

Status

  • Funded 1.4 M$ ORF
  • Project initiated in partnership with Health Informatics at McMaster and Mohawk College
