Community-Linked Evaluation AIDS Resource | CLEAR Unit

Message from Director Gina Browne

On March 31, 2007, CLEAR will have completed its two-term, eight year contract with the AIDS Bureau, Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Our goal was to transfer the capacity to do research to Community-Based AIDS Service Organizations (CBAOs). You will find testimony of their accomplishments in the CLEAR website. We remain privileged to have been a part of this important work for, with and by people living with HIV/AIDS. CBAOs now independently pursue research opportunities and always have shaped the question, conducted the methods and finalized the interpretation of results.

CLEAR is continuing work this year on more projects at the AIDS Committee of Guelph and at Voices of Positive Women on the value of case management, especially for PHAs with depression and other emotional issues. Other work continues with Asian Community AIDS Services (ACAS) on iRice and Sexpert, and the Community Planning Initiative with the AIDS Bureau.

My ongoing work in the System-Linked Research Unit (SLRU) specializes in all types of vulnerable populations. To view this, and future work, please visit the SLRU website at:
