Daryl's main areas of interest are health service evaluation and collaborative practice in palliative care and supportive cancer care

Mary Ann O'Brien

PhD Health Research Methodology, Department of Health Sciences, McMaster University

Supervisor: Dr. Timothy Whelan

PhD thesis topic: Investigating how women with breast cancer make decisions about treatment and how clinicians can help women to be involved in the decision making process.

Mary Ann’s research interests include patient and clinician decision making about cancer treatment, patients’ supportive caner care needs, and knowledge translation of best practices to clinicians. She is the recipient of a Predoctoral Traineeship Award from the Breast Cancer Research Program, US Department of Defense. She is also a member of the Cochrane Collaboration Effective Professional Practice and Organization of Care Review Group. Ms. O’Brien is a licensed physical therapist with extensive clinical experience in rehabilitation.
