- The Thoracic Surgical Program is a regional program and has a close research and clinical association with both the Firestone Institute of Respiratory Health and the Juravinski Regional Cancer Centre.
- The program is strongly supported by training programs in general surgery, cardiac, respirology, intensive care and anesthesia.
- Our association with the Centre for Minimal Access Surgery and the volume of endoscopic surgery provides a rich and unique training environment for our residents.
- Our centre has a very active modern esophageal motility lab staffed by 3 permanent technicians.
- Research is undertaken in close collaboration with the high profile clinical epidemiologists at McMaster University and at the Father Sean O'Sullivan Research Centre. The Division is productive in clinical research and has published substantially in the last decade.
