Message from the Residency Program Director
Residency Program
Our greatest strength in the thoracic residency program is the ongoing commitment of our faculty to this program. Resident education is a main priority of all our faculty. A close family atmosphere prevails and the residents feel supported throughout their training.
We have had a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Residency Program since 2000 and accept one candidate every year or two. Our program is a two year program and is not part of a CaRMS Match.
We have designed our residency program around our strengths and are interested in training young thoracic surgeons interested in practicing tertiary care thoracic surgery.
Our trainees will have a strong academic foundation and may choose an additional year of sub-specialty interest such as thoracic transplantation esophageal motility, endoscopic or laparoscopic thoracic surgery or thoracic oncology.
