Charlene Beynon, RN, MScN is a senior manager at Middlesex-London Health Unit including Director of Middlesex-London's Public Health Research Education & Development (PHRED) Program and Associate Professor, School of Nursing, The University of Western Ontario. Previous research foci include self-efficacy, partnerships, and application of theory to practice. She has published, presented extensively and assumed a lead role in producing technical reports on 1) a media campaign evaluation using an internet-based survey, 2) lessons learned from collaborative practice, 3) building a learning organization, and 4) a process for developing authentic partnerships. Contributions to this project include an extensive practice base and experience with qualitative methodology, participatory action research, web-based surveys and knowledge transfer strategies. Ms. Beynon was the co-lead for the project that focused on barriers and facilitators to screening identified by physicians and nurses
