Main Project: HOPP Study — Health Outcomes and Physical Activity in Preschoolers

Nicole Proudfoot is a research coordinator in the Child Health & Exercise Medicine Program and a part-time doctoral student in the Department of Kinesiology. Nicole grew up in Nova Scotia, where she attended St. Francis Xavier University and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics with Honours. She then completed graduate work at McMaster University under the supervision of Dr. Maureen MacDonald (Kinesiology) which focused on cardiovascular responses to exercise in children with congenital heart disease. After finishing her Master’s degree, Nicole joined the Child Health & Exercise Medicine team.

Nicole is interested in cardiovascular health and regulation in healthy children and children with chronic conditions. Currently, her main project is the HOPP Study — Health Outcomes and Physical Activity in Preschoolers.
